I think the progress is very visible! This is such a fun project to watch progress.

You have filled in the centre top section. The colour spots have me intrigued. I know there's a build up of various colour fabric but are they sheets or scraps placed here and there?

I see it, I see it!
And my goodness, some of that must have been fiddly!

It may not look like much progress but those little details are fiddly and take time to get right. Besides, it's not about the end result but the pleasure we take in getting there (or so I keep telling myself).

You've got good eye sight, or did you use a magnifying glass?

So I have to give you 10 points! Yes, only the centre top section was worked.
I still don't understand the technique fully, but basically you stack a number of layers (in my case three=the black on top, and then blue and bottom speckled green batik). These layers are basted together and you cut out a pattern (in my case, of flowers) in the black top, needle turn and then cut the blue, and needle turn so the bottom fabric is revealed. The other colours have been added this way: Cut a slit in the black, insert a small scrap of coloured fabric with tweezers underneath the black and needle turn a little 'window' where that fabric peeps out.

You have earned your ten points, Rachel! Yes, it is fiddly work, especially as the black is a loose weave and frays badly. My biggest mistake in this project was using this fabric for the top.

You can also seen the 'progress'? You've got good eyes, then! Yes, it is fiddly work and takes time. You also need good light, which I often don't have, sitting by someone's bedside.

Those extra addittions at the top of the design do settle the balance nicely.

I am glad you noticed the difference!

Yes, I can see a difference with your little added specks. It is coming along nicely.

I think the additions look like sparkles. They add color and transition from one object to another.
Nice work Queenie

Well, yes, I see a difference (some stitches on the right of the flower), but I love it! Kisses, my friend.

I have to be careful not to add too many outstanding colours, though, or the flowers will drown. I hope the colours help the eye to move from spot to spot.
